Ballet
Ballet is a beautiful and timeless genre of dance where students develop coordination, grace, strength and discipline that takes them far beyond the dance studio.
Our Ballet classes are progressive, providing each student with solid technical training, performance training, and the platform to create, achieve and grow as a dancer. Classes have a focus on barre work, port de bras, travel, turns, petit allegro, grand allegro, enchaînment and Ballet choreography.
We follow the Asia Pacific Dance Association (APDA) syllabus for our Ballet classes, supporting students right from their first plié all the way through to advanced pointe work. This ground-breaking syllabus was designed with a fresh approach to Ballet, while retaining the same discipline and technique of traditional Ballet. It is perfect for students who wish to have a strong classical foundation, whilst being versatile across other dance genres.
A highly rewarding, progressive style of dance, Ballet will develop posture, placement, turn-out, strength, suppleness and performance style.
Each year in September, our Ballet dancers are invited to take part in their APDA dance examination. This is an exciting experience where dancers can challenge themselves in a supportive and encouraging environment, as well as receive feedback from experts in the industry. Exams teach dancers motivation and give them a strong sense of achievement. They are a fun and rewarding way to celebrate progress, while developing a love of the arts.
